We love abstract art and Jackson Pollock is one of the abstract artists that we like the most.
Last year we were at the exhibition “Jackson Pollock: A Collection Survey, 1934–1954” and we were enchanted by his murals, chromatism, mixed lines, and thick weaves.
But, above all, we fell in love with his dripping and splattering techniques with which he created works of art splashing liquid paint on canvases he would place on the floor; an original technique that in the 40s broke all the rules.
In 2016, Pollock’s art was over dozens of galleries all over the World. Besides MOMA’s exhibition, his paintings were at the London Royal Academy, at the Picasso Museum in Malaga, and in Basel.
This year, Pollock’s art will be again all over the World. But his agenda begins with an exhibition that we really wanted to show you: “Making Modern”, in Boston, an exhibition that contrasts two titans of Modern art: Picasso y Pollock and analyzes the connections of the American artist with the Spanish one in all its possible ways.
Where? Museum of Fine Arts de Boston, 465 Huntington Avenue
When? Till January 2018
