Next summer clothes come in 3D and several layers where horizontal or vertical lines highlight great necklines, sensual backs or vast sleeves. Ruffles will appear even in the less thoughtful textiles. On leather metallics, denim and even woven, this will be one of the most romantic and solid trends of summer ’18.

Long live to ruffles!, as this trend, shyly seen last winter, will expand until next year, in great sizes shapes and extraordinary varieties. The Flemish influences can be seen everywhere: on symmetrical diagonals and deep, undefined necklines. On flowing skirts, fabulous sleeves and extravagant necks, no matter their position, size or fabric, frills will be seen overwearing, proudly displayed in great sizes and over floral patterns.

Ruffles were on practically every catwalk accentuating shoulders, necklines and backs and brands like Rochas, Mulberry and Simone Rocha exhibit them in the most classic and feminine way, with historical references. With a smartest, urban and sportive aesthetic, Resort collections such as Louis Vuitton and Mc Queen showed great examples, in addition to cutouts and showing bare skin, mixed with several prints, fabrics and different proportions.

Rodarte, Erdem and Preen showed bohemian styles where floral prints over languid and ethereal textiles played an important role. In dresses, blouses and skirts, see-through silks and frou-frou organzas unfolded all the sensuality proposed by this trend which admit embroideries, bright trimmings and, why not, silk appliqués that creates visual paths and textures. So, what kind of ruffles fits you the most?
