The Argentine Racecourse Palermo was the perfect setting for the fifth edition of the Prix Baron B. Inspired by the European turf and derbies such as the Prix de Diane, which takes place in France, or the Royal Ascot, the typical British horse race, this event has already become a classic porteño gala for Argentine celebs.
As always, the dress code required women to wear fascinators, that mix of hat and headdress that dates back to the 30s but which after William and Kate Wedding has turned into the trendy piece of clothing that is a must for any cocktail party or formal dinner.
Female guests dazzled with refined dresses, and impressive, original fascinators. Romina Lanaro, in her typical ethereal and chic style, chose a Marcelo Giacobbe’s dress and a fascinator created by Laura Noetinger; Pampita donned a Giacobbe’s gown with transparencies and hummingbird shapes, but she decided not to wear a fascinator because the dress was already too strong; Florencia Torrente charmed everyone with a red minimalist dress designed by Evangelina Bomparola; and the Spanish fashion icon María de León Castillejo opted for a patterned dress by the Spanish designer Jorge Vázquez and a Mimoki’s fascinator.

I chose a feathery fascinator designed by Inés de Ezcurra and I decided to wear a black long dress by Santiago Artemis. As regards make up, I preferred to highlight the eyes in dark green tones, which was the feathers’ color, and I left the skin bright and translucent.

The event, in aid of the Hospital de Clínicas foundation, was hosted by Valeria Massa, beaming in a pink Ménage Á Trois and with a fascinator designed by Laura Noetinger, and Iván de Pineda, who, as all the men, observed the rule of wearing a black tie.

The Prix brought together more than 700 people and gathered models, actresses, actors, and other members of our showbiz, who after enjoying the horse races, gambling and clapping the winners, had fun in a cool party to the music of the hot Djs Paula Demaria and Martín Bernardo till after midnight.
But fascinators played the leading role during the party. I love them because they are really attractive and they add sophistication to our outfits. It is a growing trend that not only belongs to the royalty but also to all women who dare to give to their looks a different touch.
