Estela restaurant, in the Soho neighborhood, is one of our favorite places in New York.
Set up in 2013 by Thomas Carter and Chef Ignacio Mattos in the space that once housed the Knitting Factory music venue, it serves food inspired by the Mediterranean, cooked with a personal approach that incorporates the typical flavors of New York.
We love Estela both to enjoy an exquisite brunch in the morning or at noon, and to have dinner at night. It has a cozy atmosphere, with wooden floors, and a perfect lighting.
Our suggestions? For brunch, we recommend the burrata with salsa verde and charred bread, and the chocolate cake with whipped cream. And if you go to have dinner we advise you to try the steak with king trumpet mushrooms and taleggio, or, if you prefer a sea menu, the arroz negro with squid and romesco.
