How many times do we check Instagram each day? And how many do we adopt trends or buy stuff that influencers recommend us via IG posts? Endless times, that´s why we investigate who influences us in beauty through the most visual social network. At Le Banana we made some research to show you who are the responsible ones.
Kim Kardashian: the money machine
The reality golden girl went from being Paris Hilton´s assistant to becoming a billionaire and a true icon among celebities. Under her versatile and controversial style, the most histrionic one from the Kardashian – Jenner clan has 111 million followers and, according to the social network, Kim’s account is one of those that brings pulse and rhythm to Instagram. Flaming beauty businesswoman thanks to her KKW Beauty line, Kim’s account tripled her level of reach thanks to her tutorials and posts. Awesome, isn´t it? On June 4, Kim will be awarded the ‘Influencer Award’ by the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America).
Rihanna: Purple Girl
When Rihanna started with Fenty, her capsule collection for Puma, only included clothing, until a few months ago when the brand realized the enormous potential that the singer had to launch her own beauty line. Fenty Beauty is the moment sensation in beauty and its creator gives us every week the best make up tutorials to know how to use her products. Her favourite – and ours too – is the satin shine for cheekbones, nose and eyes. Go RiRi!
Victoria Beckham ft. Lauder
Capsule collections are the biggest hit from the latest twenty years in beauty because they allow strategic alliances that dynamite sales. Victoria Beckham was one of the ones to make a cobranding with Esteé Lauder. She created “magic” creams that solve daily needs and a range of make up with neutral tones that emulate Posh Spice´s Classic Chic style. In just one week, Victoria´s line for Estee Lauder sold out throughout London and New York. Now, we are weeks away from her new launch and we want to know everything about it.
Kylie Jenner: The millennial power
The capacity of the Kardashian – Jenner family to make business and create empires is impressive, but the big surprise came with the youngest one, Kylie, when in 2016 she started with her eponymous beauty line that her family thought would be a hobby. The result? One of the biggest beauty success in the last eight years. ‘Kylie Cosmetics’ conquered the millennial and centennial audience that great beauty empires didn´t achieve or fail to conquer. Her 16 million followers on Instagram got her success in business for the high level of interaction with the younger Jenner. Kylie earned her first million dollars in just five months with her company and her reach is so massive that all her products are on a waiting list.
Jen Atkin: The stars´ favorite
When make-up artist Jen Atkin moved to Los Angeles, she knew that she would grow professionally there. She started working at a Beverly Hills´ beauty salon where Madonna once asked for her service. Then, Victoria’s Secret would ask for her during their fashion campaigns. Among her achievements is OUAI Haircare, her beauty & hair line, with which she won five consecutive times the prize for the best website with e-commerce. Currently, Atkin has 2.3 million followers on Instagram, has deals with the biggest beauty empires such as Sephora, Balmain, Net to Porter, Urban Outfitters, among others, and caters to celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Rosie Huntington Whiteley and many more.
Hung Vanngo: The star artist
How many times did we notice on IG Emily Ratajkowski, Selena Gomez, Taylor Hill or Elsa Hosk´s make up? The creator behind these looks is always Hung Vanngo. He was the first makeup artist to be part of an agency and boasts firmly in not doing anything for free. His Instagram account amasses almost one million followers and each post is saved by hundreds of girls who will then imitate that style.
