The most dynamic month of the year just kicked off and we´ve put together a little guide with key items in terms of silhouettes, colours, textures and beauty styles that will be trending this 2018. Come and see!

Red, magenta, and orange

From Brandon Maxwell to Carolina Herrera, this threesome dominated the runway in many collections. In color block, prints or fabrics, each label had its own touch.

Extra Extra! Big Coats

They were each designer collection centrepiece. For autumn winter 18/19,  oversize coats come every time bigger and puffier. Between classic and avant-garde designs, from Calvin Klein to Tom Ford add this statement pieces to their proposals.

Feminism comes in colors

A year after his proclamation printed t-shirt that said “The future is female”, Prabal Gurung doubled his bet with a line dyed in purple and pink. Its Inspiration? The Chinese Mosuo tribe and Indian Gulabi Gang movement. These communities where their women choose these colors as a badge.

Skirts + Sweaters, the perfect match

This tandem was seen in almost every NY collection. Much more a matter of styling than design, a cozy sweater combined with a (mini, midi or maxi) skirt worked as the must have look of the season.

Tartan and everything

Scotland´s favourite print was another of the highlights of last week. Some labels like Michael Kors made a cult of it on the catwalk, but other collections such as Zadig & Voltaire used this prints in a subtler way.

80s: Follow the leader

This decade was one of the most influential ones for fashion and music and, as always, every decade makes its comeback. Marc Jacobs renew his bows with the eighties with colour block garments in blue, purple, yellow and pink, double-buttoned tailoring and hyperbolic shoulder pads. Every outfit styled with immense hats. Very Dick Tracy.

Sports Rhapsody

Athleisure is still one of the biggest must have style of global fashion and still has place for reinvention. Brands like Alexander Wang, Derek Lam or Jeremy Scott know how to go this way and others, such as Juicy Couture, do it in a more commercial way. Athletics off tracks.

Ode to shine & neutral.

No-make up make up is the most important global beauty trend now, as seen on the runways. Only that sparkles made the difference: Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and Tom Ford were some of the designers that´ve chosen glitter to create a magical effect.

Statement walk

No unkempt or conservative footwear, please. Sandals, shoes, boots, sneakers (each time bigger and dirtier, like #dadsneakers trend) and mules were seen as intrincate, original and opulent as ever.

Enjoy!
