For shy or cautious people, we recommend to incorporate velvet in accessories: a good purse, short cane boots or a soft foulard can give the right touch without taking too many risks. However, for those who choose to wear it proudly, you can wear it in two or three pieces, in vibrant colors and in monochrome. Why not be dramatic and wear over your jeans a long night blue coat with high heels?
Velvet can be paired with natural fabrics such as silk or satin and also, to create contrast, with denim. If you choose a black velvet dress try mixing it with clothes in wool or gabardine and thus play to contrast the opaque and brightness in your look, without adding color.
Another option is to turn it into the center of attention. Take advantage of its texture to the maximum and in strident colors that go well in opposition to other garments in different color or texture. It is always better to choose it in top clothes such as coats, jackets, dresses or shirts because it gives a lot of volume and is complicated to wear it in trousers.
Unleash the softness and combine it with other trends of the moment: try overlapping many clothes in different textiles such as a cotton shirt with denim trousers, and a wool sweater.
