A faster industry: that is, perhaps, the aim that some designers are thinking of and looking for. And they do that in more than one sense, from the See Now- Buy Now movement to the way they design some of their pieces of clothing.
Fasten your seatbelts! In Le Banana we will show you which firms are putting this new concept into action.
Nicolas Ghesquiere, Creative Director of Louis Vuitton, Massimo Giorgetti, Creative Director of Emilio Pucci, Donatella Versace, Creative Director of Versace, and Alessandro Michelle, Creative Director of Gucci are the ones in charge of carrying out this fashion idea in which fastness is at the center.
Both Ghesquier in Louis Vuitton and Giorgetti in Emilio Pucci use science fiction as a paradigm to present collections full of adrenaline, color and immediacy, something that coincides with the launch of Wonder Woman in 2017.
Windbreaker jackets, in the case of Vuitton, make us think of the entire mysticism that surrounds speed and fashion, and cat suits highlight women shapes and show an empowerment spirit: the Girl Power is more alive than ever before.
While the always sensual Donatella, in Versace, makes this trendy speed tangible in details; and so jackets and pants are made of vinyl or metallic leathers. The same happens with Alessandro in Gucci, who has transformed his Sylvie Bag into an object that honors that fastness and speed we live into.
Valentino and Emilio Pucci boots deserves another paragraph. They are delicate and controversial at the same time. Contradictory? It seems that that is the idea. They complement looks, are also an essential detail and solve a daily problem: the winter cold that freezes us all.
Enjoy!
