EDITOR MARKET, THE REBIRTH OF A CONCEPT IN B.A.

0

A new place arrived in Buenos Aires and I was there to tell you everything you must now about it.

What is it about? It is Editor Market, a kind of design shopping created by the businessman Gabriel Brener and located at a symbolic site: the corner of Corrientes Avenue and San Martin Street.

What amazed me the most when I first entered were the nine floors of the ancient remodeled building, and the creative details that make the place completely different from any other shopping center.

Editor Market is a new concept, inspired by European places such as the legendary Parisian Colette store. What I like the most about the initiative is that it combines all the aspects of design in the same space: fashion, home decor, furniture, objects, and accessories.

When I saw it, I felt that I had found something different and original that a cosmopolitan city like Buenos Aires really needed.

I love seeing that my city adapts to the new trends of the leading world capitals, and Editor Market is an example of this.

If you are near the city center, don’t miss this new place! Apart from finding designs of the best designers, you will discover a perfect place to relax, enjoy tasty coffees, and have a good time.

Where? Av Corrientes 503.

HOW TO APPLY INVISIBLE MAKE-UP

0

Makeup is essential for women. Either out of necessity or for mere pleasure, the truth is that at some point we all end up turning to it.

I’ve loved makeup since I was a child. At that time, I was amazed by how my mum and my aunts made themselves up, and I always told them that I wanted to inherit their cosmetics.

As we all know, there exist different types of makeup. The key is to know where and when to wear one type or another. If we know we will have a long and busy day from early in the morning, it is better to wear an invisible makeup. Then, as the hours pass by, we can apply a stronger eye color and transform the makeup into a “night makeup”.

Make Up

Today I will give you some tips to get a simple and daylong makeup.

First of all, it is very important to cleanse the skin. After washing my face with cold water, I soak a cotton ball in an alcohol-free lotion and wipe it all over my face to leave my skin fresh and clean.

I like translucent and luminous makeup, so the first thing I apply is a moisturizer to light up the skin. You can also apply a prime with luminous glints. Many cosmetic brands sell it and you can use it to replace the moisturizer.

MAC

Once the skin is moisturized, the second step is to apply the foundation all over the face using a sponge moistened with thermal water. If you have a healthy skin, I advise you to apply just a little to even out skin complexion. Then, we smoothly apply the concealer exactly in the same way, using a wet sponge so that it is light and flows easily.

I don’t like wearing powder, but if you have an oily skin, I advise you to use one that is magical: “Make up For ever” HD High Definition Powder. It has a smooth texture, and so it does not dry the skin. You just have to apply it along the “T” area and leave the face’s luminous spots glossy.

The last step is to apply mascara to the eyelashes, and blush of any color to the apples of your cheeks. I prefer rosy tones and a powder two tones darker than my skin. I apply it below the apples to highlight them and give the face an angular shape. You can also apply a just lip on the lips to moisturize them.

In another post, I will teach you how to make up your lips so that they look just as Angelina Jolie’s. It is a magical formula that I learnt in Los Angeles and that has given me great results

FOREVER BRUNCH!

Travelling involves many pleasures, and certainly one of them is enjoying tasty and varied meals.
Over the last years, Miami has become one of the culinary meccas of the United States.
The last time I visited Miami, I was invited to a brunch at the SLS Hotel and since I am a sybarite I tried all the dishes I was offered.

The brunch starts at 11 AM and you can taste almost anything you can imagine, from fishes and shellfishes to pasta, sushi and different kinds of cheeses. The presentation of each dish is absolutely tempting. Fishes are carefully arranged in luxurious trays, and sweet snacks are decorated with impossible-to-resist chocolate threads.

Besides, the hotel offers a wide variety of drinks and champagne Veuve Clicquot to accompany the delicious dishes. All of them are worth savoring, even more if you sit at the terrace, where you can enjoy a splendid view of the garden.

What I liked the most about the brunch was that not only the dishes were carefully designed and full of details.
I love visiting places where Art Deco architecture prevails because I feel as if I were inside a movie.  At the SLS, each piece of furniture and each object creates a scenography-like atmosphere which gives the place a mystical and cool air.

If you go to Miami, you can’t miss it!

LOLLA KEEP ROCKING!

0

As every year, music had its best celebration at Lollapalooza Chicago.

During all three days of the festival, more than 360 thousand people flocked to Chicago’s Grant Park to enjoy the performance of some of the greatest international music artists.

Paul McCartney was in charge of closing the first day of the festival and he did so giving a show that lasted more than two hours but that could have lasted much more time because the audience didn’t stop cheering on the Beatle star that keeps thrilling people as he did in the 60’s.

While McCartney was performing his concert, one of the others stages of the Grant Park was shaking to the music of The Weeknd, a booming band that is compared to Michel Jackson by many music magazines. This was certainly one of the shows I didn’t want to miss.

The Weekend
Sam Smith, the star that is just 23 years old and who has already won 4 Grammys, was another must-see of my Lollapalooza’s list.  And he didn’t let me down. He made our hearts vibrate as the full moon brightened our bodies under the impressive Windy City skyline.

A great stand-out was Glass Animals, a British band that was born during a sleeplessness night in 2014 and that promises to make history with a musical style characterized by shades and mystery.

Florence + The Machine, one of the most expected artists, closed the edition giving a show that was really powerful both on the stage and in the field. She ran down barefoot into the crowd two times and hugged the fans who were singing her songs under an approaching storm that could not interrupt that magic moment.

One more time, Grant Park was the place chosen to carry out the event. This is a huge green oasis in the middle of Chicago and during Lollapalooza’s weekend it shook to the music of more than 150 bands, music legends, new artists, and DJs that performed on the eight stunning stages that were set for the occasion, bringing to life one of  the most important worldwide music festivals.

Grant Park
Tip: as I always tell you, it is very important to wear comfortable clothes because the field is enormous and you have to walk a lot. Besides, since at this time of the year the weather is really hot in Chicago, it is also important to drink a lot of water.

Enjoy it!

Look at the Stars

0

Have I told you that I am fond of looking at the stars? I bought a telescope some years ago and since then, when the sky is clean, I look at the moon, the planets, and everything that can be seen at a particular time of the year.

But I am not here to talk about astronomy. I want to talk about a trend that is gaining momentum and is taking over the patterns’ podium.

Some years ago, precisely in 2011, the Italian Brand Dolce & Gabbana designed an entire collection inspired by stars. At that time we could see short and long silk loose dresses, and even pailletttes dresses full of stars.

Now this trend is making its triumphant return led by many designers. Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane is one of the most outstanding. He designed very original cowboy boots similar to the ones wore by the Wonder Woman.

The Belgian-Italian designer and recently appointed creative director of Versus, Anthony Vaccarello, also joined this trend. He launched a collection in which stars are the protagonists of most of the pieces of clothing, embedded in leathers with metallic materials.

Stella Mc Cartney was also inspired by constellations. She created sky-high platform shoes appliquéd with colorful leather and glitter stars.

Nowadays stars are not only in the sky! Many celebs have already joined the star style as a pop and rock trend in their street looks! Are you up for it? Enjoy it!

The Brunch en los Angeles

Joan's on Third

Joan’s on Third is one of the best places to stop by and have brunch or tea. It is also the ideal place to buy deli gifts.

Joan's on Third

The pastries are all delicious. My favorites are vanilla cupcakes, although I must admit that the carrot cake is superb. There are many options for brunch, such as burrata, hummus, macaroni and cheese, and salmon, but what I like the most is breaded chicken escalope. For those who prefer light meals, there is a great variety of exquisite salads, cheeses, and grilled vegetables.

The place is decorated as a tiny boutique grocery. There are homemade jams, cheeses, a wide selection of wines from Napa Valley, ice- creams, and many other options for those who love gastronomy. Everything is organized on open shelves, which creates a delicate and fresh look.

LA MAR: PERUVIAN DELISH!

La Mar restaurant

La Mar, the restaurant owned by the renowned Peruvian chef Gastón Acurio, has opened in Buenos Aires and it offers an endless variety of dishes and flavors. Anthony Vázquez is in charge of the kitchen and he controls that every flavor keeps its unique feature.

Peruvian ceviche

The menu offers different options, but the highlights are the traditional Peruvian ceviche, the tiraditos, the causas, and a great range of hot meals. One is better than the other so don’t miss the chance to taste as many as you  can!

My favorite is the wok-fried shellfish. This time I had the pleasure of entering the kitchen and cooking with Anthony, who told me stories about his long career while we prepared the specialty of the house: the tiradito chupe, a delicious meal.

The atmosphere of the place evokes the seaside. It has a terrace where you can enjoy the porteño air and a bar that offers one of the best piscos of the city. La Mar is more than a simple restaurant. It is a magic place to celebrate life and share unforgettable moments while you eat tasty Peruvian dishes.  An important tip! Do not forget to book a table because it is always full and if you don’t have a reservation you will wait more than an hour.

Let’s dance Coachella

0

Coachella is the music and art festival that everybody wants to visit. Indio’s desert heat, the valley’s scenery, and the music make the perfect combination for actresses, actors and models, who are there from the day it kicks off till the end.

Paris Hilton, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Kendall Jenner, are just some of the celebs that don’t miss a single edition of the festival and that each year show their “Coachella looks” on Instagram.

Paris Hilton

And talking about looks, we must say that Coachella is a trendsetting festival, not only because of its typical indie and hipster style, but also because everybody wants to show their Chellastyle. This year I chose short dresses and a pair of Cowboy boots that I keep since a couple of years ago. Hats and sunglasses were essential to protect myself from the sun.

If you are planning to go next year, my piece of advice is that you are original and loyal to yourself, and that you wear comfortable clothes since you are going to walk a lot all day long.

This year, Coachella’s five stages featured ACDC, Drake, Kaskade, Kasabian, Alt J, and over 200 bands. Three days are not enough to see so many artists. That’s why it is important to organize your own schedule so as not to lose anything and enjoy everything that the festival offers. I was thrilled with many shows, but Jack White, Tame Impala, Chet Faker, Marina and the Diamonds and Florence + the Machine — the most magical band of the festival—, were my top five.

Where to sleep?

On-site camping is a great option, but if you prefer hotels, my suggestions are La Quinta hotel, The Palm Springs Hotel, Ace Hotel or Riviera Palm Springs Hotel, which are ten minutes by car from the festival area and where you can enjoy the music since early hours in the pool parties. If you go with some friends, another fun idea is to rent a house and throw your own private parties there.

If you go, don’t miss the carpoolchella: people carpool with others, they paint and decorate their car and then participate in a contest. This program started in 2007, and more and more people are joining each year.

Tip: Don’t forget your sunblock because in California the sun spares no one!

Fashionable Night in Buenos Aires

0

Sole in Bafweek

Bafweek is back. Its organizers threw a gala dinner at La Rural to relaunch it and I was there. It was a fantastic night in which more than 300 guests, among celebs and protagonists of the fashion world, celebrated the return of one of the most important events of our country’s fashion industry.

I chose a Ramirez dress -simple but elegant and black, the designer’s best liked color and I wore peach make-up. What do you think about my look?

Enjoy the black carpet!

Lolla Is In The Air

0

Lollapalooza had its second edition in Buenos Aires and left a trail of new artists and unforgettable memories. This festival always amazes me, not only because of the great range of musical styles it offers, but also because of the staging, the gastronomy, and the good vibes you can feel there. St Vincent was one of the artists I liked the most. His show was amazing and he made it clear why he is a star all over the world.

Another epic moment took place when Robert Plant joined Jack White to perform The Lemon Song. Their voices echoed all along the world and the event was described as historic by national and international journalists and reporters. And talking about the festival highlights, I can’t leave aside Kasabian. Their show in Buenos Aires was awesome and is among my top five favorites.

Pharrel Williams, who visited Buenos Aires for the first time, left me speechless. We danced for hours to the rythm of his hip-hop songs. And the famous “Drop It Like It’s Hot”, that he wrote with Snoop Dogg, was the bomb of the show.

Last but not least, Skrillex, the eclectic and charismatic DJ, had an outstanding performance and closed the festival with a stunning fireworks display timed to the rhythm of music.

I love music festivals and Lollapalooza is the perfect one to find music trends, enjoy the fashion and the legends of rock and pop, and discover many new things offered by an amazing festival that became famous in Chicago some years ago, that has been in Chile and Brazil for four years now, and that this year will arrive in Berlin for the first time.

Enjoy it!
