Elegance and sophistication: in Le Banana we believe that those are the adjectives that best describe the looks of 88° Academy Awards red carpet.

Jennifer Lawrence, Lady Gaga, Rachel McAdams, Alicia Vikander y Julianne Moore

are among our favorites, although Charlize Theron was the numen of the red carpet and she was in the limelight in Dior.

But let’s talk about the looks of the five more important actresses of the night: of course we are referring to the nominees and the winner in the actress in leading role category.

Brie Larson, great winner for her fantastic role in Room, where she efficiently features Joy, a young woman that was kidnapped and lives locked inside a room with Jack, the son she had we her captor, arrived to the red carpet in an elegant blue dress by Gucci.

Cate Blanchett, nominated for her role in Carol, film in which she is an unhappy distinguished high class woman, something she had already successfully achieved in Blue Jasmine, the Woody Allen’s film that led her to win her first Oscar as leading actress in 2014, got to the ceremony wearing Armani Privé.

Jennifer Lawrence’s look, who couldn’t win the Oscar for her role in Joy but who some months ago was awarded with the Golden Globe as best comedy actress, was our favorite among these five Hollywood stars. As always, the actress stunned with her beauty and good taste and left everybody speechless with a dress of Dior.

Saoirse Ronan, that at the early age of 21 got her first nomination as leading actress, thanks to Brooklyn, film where she shines with a sober and efficient interpretation of Eilis, chose a design of Calvin Klein.

Charlotte Rampling, that at the age of 70 was nominated to an Oscar for the first time for her role in 45 Years, keeps her elegance untouched and captivated everybody in the red carpet with an exclusive dress of Armani Privé.

And a special paragraph goes for two of the most important men of the night: Leonardo Di Caprio and Eddie Redmayne.

Finally, Di Caprio won his first Oscar as actor in leading role for his astonishing interpretation in Revenant, the film directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu in which he features, with a majestic domain of his body and gestures, Hugh Glass, a tramper of the United States of 1820.

Redmayne – that in 2015 won the maximum prize for his interpretation of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything was the other favorite this year but he didn’t win the award in spite of being acclaimed by critics for his fabulous interpretation in The Danish Girl, where he features the Danish painter Lili Elbe, the first transsexual woman that was operated on to change her sex.

Without any doubt, the Academy Awards will be in focus during the next few weeks, but in Le Banana we think that these are the highlights of this great award that took at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. What do you think? Do you agree with our choices?

Enjoy it!
