Interpol, Troye Sivan and Years & Years will have their own side shows at Vorterix Theatre and Niceto Club before the three-day festival at San Isidro Racecourse.
The news was revealed yesterday and social media popped. Lollapalooza Argentina confirmed the sideshows that will be part of the festival and today we tell you which are the groups that will have an extra show during their stay in Buenos Aires for Lollapalooza which will take place from March 29th to 31th.
On March 27th the British Years & Years will head the opening day with their show at Niceto Club; Interpol will play the following day, on March 28th, at Vorterix Theatre, and Troye Sivan will do their part at Niceto Club. But, who are these boys?
Five years have passed between their debut album, Communion, and Palo Santo, the album they rehearsed this year. The frontman, who combines an eighties-like synth pop with electronic beats electrónicos, and Olly Alexander’s powerful voice -apart from a great dancer-, lead this British band to success. We are sure they will give a great show in Palermo to dance and shout all night long. But your tickets now because… #teenalert
South African musician and TV, theatre and film actor Troye Sivan will be next to play. He is just 23, but he is at the peak of his music career. Bloom is his latest album and which led him to win a place among “best year albums” lists of some specialized media. The young artist is also nominated as Best New Artist for Grammy and he already has two pop hits: 1999, ft Charli XCX, with a party and nostalgic video, and another one ft Ariana Grande, called Dance To This.
For pre nineties audience there will be some New Yorker post punk. Interpol will play at Vorterix Theatre now that they are at the top of their career. They have just launched their sixth studio album, Marauder. The group was created in 1997 at NYU (New York University) and their singer, Paul Banks, also has a powerful voice, but his is more gloomy and resounding than Alexander’s.
For those who want to listen to their sound, “Evil”, “Slow Hands” and “Lights” are some of the songs that will have us jumping at Colegiales Theatre. Post-rock guitar sound of Banks and Daniel Kessler can be easily recognized and thanks to their long song book they have sold million of albums and shows all around the world for two decades.
