We were at the presentation of “Collapse”, Juan Hernández Daels’ SS 2017 collection, inspired by the aesthetics effects of demolished buildings and the architectural deconstruction of Gordon Matta Clark’s work.
The setting was perfect: Palacio Devoto, an icon of the city, whose antique peeling walls and its huge rooms and baroque doors reflected the exact balance between the beauty and the decline that ruins instill and let the public thought about the nostalgic reflection that Daels tries to convey through the clothes of the collection.
Creativity, good taste, and sensuality harmoniously coexist in “Collapse”, which highlights tailoring, silk and organza dresses, chiffon, and iridescent fabrics.
With a color palette in which grey, black, pink, and white are predominant, Daels’ pieces of clothing stress femininity through geometric figures that subtly highlight women shapes.
A great collection of a young designer that is already renowned around the world and that is growing day by day in Argentina.
