If you go to Punta del Este, you can’t miss Garzón Restaurant & Hotel, owned by the renowned Argentine Chef Francis Mallmann.
An antique exposed brick house, typical of the classic General Stores of the 20th century, gives room to this restaurant characterized by its cozy atmosphere and its customized attention.
The rustic and sophisticated touch perfectly shows the rural mystic of Garzón, a small village of 200 settlers that still keeps the spirit it was born with in 1892.
Its cuisine is based upon regional products and sea fishes, while the Wood stove and the firewood give each plate a special a unique character.
Besides, the place has a garden and an organic vegetable garden and so all the menus include delicious herbs and super tasty fresh vegetables.
Our suggestion? Schnitzels are, without any doubt, Mallmann’s icon. Accompanied by a good wine of Garzón’s winery, they are unbeatable. For dessert time? Dulce de leche flan is an irresistible temptation, though profiteroles are also a good option.
Where? Costa José Ignacio, 20401 Garzón, Maldonado Department, Uruguay
Enjoy it!
