More than 150 international hip hop, dance, trap and rock and roll artists and hundreds of millennials and centennials turned Chicago into a different place during the first two days of one of the most popular music festivals in the world and here in Le Banana we’ll give you all the details you wanna know.  Let’s go!

Lollapalooza 14th consecutive edition in the Windy City is over and once again it left us all speechless. This year, the music giant created by Perry Farrell at the edge of Lake Michigan, gathered 100.000 centennials and millennials each day, from Thursday afternoon till last night, offering all kind of music, eight stages and almost two-hundred artists.

After kicking off on Thursday to the sound of Star Wars theme song, Jaden Smith and Billie Eilish made the most of the afternoon playing short but strong sets that drew lots of people. Will Smith’s son, with his videos shown on big screens behind him, rocked early festival-goers who then moved to another stage to continue enjoying teen music to the sound of Eilish, the 16 year-old Californian girl that is in the limelight.

With platinum blonde hair and dayglo green shorts, the blondie, blue-eyes girl opened her show with her hit  “bellyache”. She also seized the moment to sing Drake’s “Hotline Bling” and she even had time to sing the song with which she became famous, “Lovely”,  feat.  together with Khalid.

However, it was not till the evening that the headliners of the first day arrived. Camila Cabello, who will be in Argentina on October 20th and whose tickets are already sold out, played almost on a par with Travis Scott and the crowd was divided between pop and hip hop lovers. Houston rapper sang some songs from his new album, Astroworld, and he also adapted SZA with “Love Galore”.

When Thursday was coming to an end, thousands gathered together at Grant Park’s main scenario to see Arctic Monkeys, who presented their new album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, with Alex Turner as crooner, shaved as Brad Pitt in Fight Club to interpret the song named after the album, “Four Out of Five” and “One Point Perspective”.

Friday was also a lovely sunny summer day. Tyler The Creator, who couldn´t be in Lollapalooza Argentina this year,  amazed his fandom on the second day with the hits from his albums Flower Boy and Wolf. He, as well as Post Malone, appeared wearing DIY-like painted  clothes in psychedelic colors. The millennial from Dallas rocked the Bud Light Stage from the very second song, Better Now, and kept the trap flow till the end, before the arrival of Bruno Mars.

The musician from Hawaii closed the second day with a powerful show that included soul ballads such as “Versace on The Floor” and  also dance songs -with perfect choreographies-: Finesse, 24k Magic and Treasure made it clear that he is, undoubtedly, the heir of Michael Jackson, Prince and James Brown: all in one.

Stay tuned LB fans, that there is still more about the second part of the festival!
