Five o’ clock tea is a classic in England since 18th century. It started as an aristocratic tradition then it reached middle and working classes, and nowadays it is a must not only for citizens but also for tourist that visit the country.

When we were in London, we visited Fortnum & Mason, one of the best tea houses of the city, founded in 1707 by William Fortnum and Hugh Mason and a symbol of the United Kingdom, to the extent of having been the tea supplier of the Royal House for the last 150 years.

Located at the mythical Piccadilly Street, Fortnum’s is placed in a classic ancient building unique in style and elegance. Diamond Jubilee Tea Room is, undoubtedly, the gem of the place, a peaceful oasis with a grand piano perfect to enjoy tea time and take pleasure in tasting the different tea types of the house: black, green, white, oolong, yellow, and matcha, among others.

Besides, Fortnum’s has a store where you can buy all the collections of tea of the place: the Royal line, the exotic blends, the fruit teas, among other infusions; a cozy place that offers fascinators, purses, and exclusive perfumes; and a delicate bazaar that sells unique tea ware sets to enjoy tea.

The house is an icon of British tradition and an ode to tea ceremony that we love so much. Timeless pleasure!
