We visited one of the most tempting restaurants of the core of Ciudad Vieja, Montevideo, and an icon of local food: Jacinto; a place that offers a modern service, a perfect decoration and delicious flavors.
Jacinto’s menu changes every season and there is always a new favorite. We savored the summer menu and we loved two different dishes that are perfect for summer days: chicken salad with kale, mole eggs, and almond and Parmesan cheese brittle; and gazpacho with bread bratty and cilantro oil.
If you like desserts, we suggest that you try Afogatto, the most characteristic dish of the place, a mix of dulce de leche ice cream, bourbon, espresso, nuts and salt that you can’t miss.
Besides, the restaurant has a place called “The Bakery”, where you can taste yummy cakes and sweet things and have an exquisite tea.
Everything at Jacinto is a joy for the senses, and its location, a corner surrounded by colonial buildings close o museums and touristic places of the city make it even more special.
