Plenty of take out and junk food spots can be found in Miami to eat but now, there more varied proposals, with specialized cuisine and a great aesthetic value. It is interesting to see how Wynwood, the Art District, is growing with food businesses that seduce locals and tourists with unique and healthy menus.
This is Zak The Baker `s case, a Kosher style bakery and cafe owned by Zak Stern, a former pharmaceutical student who decided to quit school in Florida at 22 to devote himself to travel the world for five years to learn the trades from bakers in Sweden, cheese makers in France and dairy in Israel, in exchange for food and lodging.
From making bread for the local farmers and market, where Zak connects with the simple things in life and nature, in a few years he turned into one of the hot spots in Wynwood. Last month the bakery was awarded by Score Miami with the emerging business award.
Zak the Baker includes many proposals for breakfast and lunch with organic products like pastrami or gravlax salmon, daily soups with roasted vegetables and sandwiches, must-have for its variety of breads with grains, seeds and nuts. Crusty croissants and cinnamon roll are also recommended.
They offer delivery service, take out in order to get those amazing flavors anywhere, and its breads can be found at Whole Foods in Aventura, Coral Gables and South Beach, among others.
