The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) is a must-see if you are in New York and you are passionate about contemporary art, that’s why we went there and we spent hours enjoying one of its latest temporary exhibitions: “Jackson Pollock: A Collection Survey, 1934–1954”.
The exhibition looks over the works of the American artist in detail and goes through almost 50 works of arts that trace his creative evolution from the 1930s to the early 1950s.
Through the paintings and the huge murals, the exhibition leads us to Pollock’s different pictorial techniques and styles, among which there stand out his abstract and irrational painting, his vivid colors, the intertwined lines, hatching and thick surfaces, his dripping, and the action painting.
Energy, movement, and speed are some of the feelings that Pollock carries through his paintings, which are, besides and above all, the living sign of his most remarkable virtue: his relentless experimentation.
