Over the last few years, Southeast Asia has become the destination chosen by thousands of tourists from all over the world. That’s why in Le Banana we will tell you some must-dos that can’t be out of your checklist when embarking on this unique experience that goes beyond the boundaries of real world.
The best thing about the Asian country is that it offers varied options for people from all walks of life. If you love the beach, then you can just go to the idyllic Thai islands. But if you like the mountain and you are interested in discovering different cultures, you can also visit Chiang Mai province and explore Thai costumes and their eccentricities, such as the giraffe women.
If you travel from South America, there are many airlines that go to Bangkok, capital city of Thailand. Emirates, Qatar and Turkish are the ones that offer shorter and direct flights. Bangkok has a rich culture. Two of the most fascinating places are Wat Phra Kaew, the most important Buddhist temple of Thailand, and the Grand Palace, which are next to each other, inside the historic center of Bangkok. Visiting the floating flower market, where you’ll find thousands of different flower types, is another must do. And if you want to feel the spirit of the city you can take a long tail boat and go around the exotic Thai canals.
Among Thai islands, one of the most desired destinations is Koh Phi Phi Lee, a tiny island that, together with Koh Phi Phi Don, Mosquito Island and Bamboo Island, make up the Phi Phi island chain. Apart from enjoying its paradisiacal beaches, you can do water activities, discover its food, such as the Pad Thai, one of the most characteristic dishes of the place, and be pleased with Thai massages, with or without happy ending.
From Koh Phi Phi Lee, there are two excursions that you must do: the visit to Maya Bay, another breath-taking beach, whose name perhaps rings a bell because the film The Beach, starring Leonardo Di Caprio, was shot there; and Bamboo Island, a virgin island in the middle of nowhere, a true paradise.
The other island that you can’t miss is Koh Lanta. The charm of this place is that the beaches are huge, the water is calm and you can relish floating on the sea or walking around the large white beaches. Also, you must try an elephant trekking, which is really fun and typical of Thailand.
Koh Samui, in the South of the Thailand Golf, is another island that must be in your wish list of the Asian country. It is a place to enjoy nature or relax using the amenities offered by the hotels. Without any doubt, one the best attractions of the place are the restaurants and pubs that prepare tables for two in the middle of the sea or at the seaside. How? They place a raft on the sea, they hold it with ropes and wood, and decorate it with white cloths and candles: perfect for a romantic night.
And 60 kilometers away from Ko Samui you will find Koh Tao, also called Turtle Island, which is one of the best places to do scuba diving thanks to the diversity and the quality of its seafloor.
But not everything is chill out in Thailand; you can also be part of great parties there. There are hundreds, but the Full Moon Party, in Koh Phangan, that takes place every full moon night, is one of the most amazing and is already a classic in Thailand.
